This is “La Soufrière“, the live volcano on my home of Guadeloupe. The last time it erupted was in 1976. This white smoke you see is sulfur gazes coming out of one of the craters. The smell is toxic but I like it. It took about 1 1/2 hour to hike up there and I thought I was going to lose a lung. Although painful sometimes, the hike was well worth it. We were higher than the clouds.
